How to Enter

Entry information and methods for the Maroon & Gold Awards is updated each year as a new awards committee is formed. Below are the guidelines for the 2009 awards.

2009 How To Enter    Entry fees | Entry forms | Submissions

Entry fees

Enter as many projects as you like. An entry may be submitted for a single subcategory. You may enter a project separately for as many subcategories or categories as you would like. If you would like an entry to be considered for the Margo award, you must indicate it on your entry form and provide additional information, though there is no additional fee. Indicating entry into the MIKE Award category constitutes an additional entry fee.

Entry fees are payable with a University EFS number. The EFS number to be charged must be included on each entry form in the field provided.

If you need to use an alternative form of payment, contact Sara Specht at sspecht@umn.edu or 612-624-1746.

If you need an alternative format to submit your entry, contact Disability Services by e-mail at ds@umn.edu, or by calling 612-626-1333 (V/TTY) or 612-626-9654 (FAX).

Entry forms

Choose your words well! Your description is read by the judges to evaluate the objectives, cost, and outcomes of your entry. If you receive an award, your words will be used in the awards presentation and exhibit to describe the success of your project.

Keep in mind that concise, well-written descriptions will help the judges make timely, fair decisions. Descriptions may not exceed the space allotted on the form; additional entries/extended descriptions will not be accepted.

Do you have a question about your entry? Check the Awards FAQ.

The entry form is available in PDF format. If you need the form in an alternate format, please contact Sara Specht or William Dana.

•  Use Adobe Acrobat software, if possible, to complete the PDF version of the entry form so you are be able to save an electronic file for your personal records, as well as print a copy to submit with your entry.

•  If you use Adobe Reader software, you will be able to complete and print the information you enter, but your information will be lost as soon as you close the file. You will need to complete and print the form in one sitting. You will not be able to save an electronic version of the entry form. In that case, you may want to prepare your essay information in a word processing file prior to adding it into the PDF entry fields.
