Tin cans and string not working anymore as a communication tool? Learn about Adobe Breeze, a Web communication system University of Minnesota faculty, staff, and eligible students can use to create multimedia presentations for the Web or to communicate and collaborate over the Web via live meetings.

Lance Cunningham and Hope L. Johnson, co-heads of the Breeze project for the Office of Information Technology on the Twin Cities campus, gave an overview of Adobe Breeze Presenter and Breeze Meeting—the two components of Adobe Breeze. They discuseds topics such as how to use Breeze to publish a presentation on the Web, participate in an online meeting, and use meeting tools for chat, polling, and sharing content. They also gave examples of how University communicators are using Breeze.

Brian Brashaw, Natural Resources Research Institute program director for forest products wood materials and manufacturing on the Duluth campus, also talked about how he uses Breeze to present nationwide webinars on non-destructive wood testing techniques. He began using this technology to teach City of New Orleans inspectors how to determine whether water-damaged homes should be destroyed or could be repaired.

The program was hosted by Cunningham on the Duluth campus and Johnson on the Twin Cities campus, and also Webcast via Breeze Meeting.
