And what are the ways in which you can capture your stories in an ethical, equitable manner?

We hope you'll be able to join us for this meaningful conversation. Please note, it will not be recorded. Lunch will be provided to in-person attendees. Room is limited; please register early.

Speakers

Nicole Endres, M.A. ’09

Director, Development Content, University of Minnesota Foundation

Following a brief stint as a general assignment reporter at a small daily newspaper, Nicole feels fortunate to have spent the majority of her career telling stories about the inspiring researchers, physicians, patients, students, and donors involved with the University of Minnesota as an employee of the University of Minnesota Foundation. Ethical storytelling—centered on compassion, authenticity, and informed decision-making—aligns closely with Nicole’s personal values.

Allison Lindberg, B.A. ‘06

Marketing Strategy Director, University of Minnesota Foundation

Allison (Alli) has been in the marketing industry for over fifteen years with her primary focus being how to thoughtfully and strategically engage key audiences. Prior to working at the U of M Foundation, Alli worked in the College of Liberal Arts Office for Undergraduate Studies and the Institute for Global Studies. She also spent brief periods living and teaching in France and working as an event coordinator at the McNamara Alumni Center and Saint Paul RiverCentre. A lifelong learner with abundant curiosity, Alli leans into these traits when researching stories to share with donor audiences. She approaches her work with story sources as a professional friendship, interested in caring for that person and their story equally.

Lynnea Madsen

Manager of Speechwriting, University of Minnesota Foundation

With a background in teaching, theater, and literature, Lynnea has spent most of her career studying the elements of storytelling and exploring what makes a story most compelling. In the last ten years at the University of Minnesota Foundation, she has served as a key speechwriter for events, crafting remarks for leadership as well as students, staff, and faculty. Over the last five years, Lynnea also co-led the “Telling Our Stories” initiative as part of the Driven Campaign, training advisory boards, donors, and staff throughout the University on how to develop and share their own U of M story. The Ethical Storytelling initiative is vital to her daily work as she strives to utilize its principles of respect, authenticity, and transparency in helping others craft their stories.
