Breakout Session 3: Digital Storytelling: From Script to Screen, Amplifying Student Voices

Location: Minnesota Commons (102)

This session explores how the University of Minnesota Twin Cities' Center for Community-Engaged Learning leverages digital storytelling as both a reflective learning tool and a strategic communications asset. Through the Community Engagement Scholars Program capstone course, students reflect, write scripts, and storyboard to produce videos that extend beyond the classroom to amplify student voices, demonstrate impact, and support outreach and recruitment. Participants will learn how to translate reflective student work into compelling digital content, gain a practical toolkit for digital storytelling, and consider how digital media can support student stories and connect with audiences across campus and the greater Twin Cities community.
